The Tomb of King Den
Dynasty 1 (~ 2.900 BC)
King Den's roofless tomb in Abydos as it was found in the 1980s. The stair case leading to the chamber (in the front) can be seen in the back. The structure as been very well preserved due to the fact that it has been covered by sand for 5 000 years. Note the wooden beams coming out from the walls. They were a part of the roof construction.
