The name of King Nubnefer
Dynasty 2   (~ 2.500 BC)

The only two remains of pharaoh Nubnefer come from parts of broken stone ves-sels from Sakkara. His name is written by the hieroglyph for gold (nub) being a necklace, and the more symbolic and very common sign for beautiful (nefer).
If "interpreted" the king's name could mean "the beautiful King Gold" and this name may be an unusual form of a better known king from the very period.
