The Oldest Royal Cemetery
The Abydos royal cemetery is placed 2 km west of the Nile. The oldest tombs are from before dynasty 1. If the tomb was a "copy" of the king's palace, his residence was a rectangular building. Aha, Djer, Djet and Den had lots of sacrificed(?) servants beside them, but this tradition dis-appeared by the time of king Peribsen from the second dynasty.
