Mastaba Beit Khallaf

Many clay seals wore the name of King Djosers. The hieroglyphs (written i columns) give the title of the pharaoh as the ruler over the two countries symbolised by (1) the sedge and the vulture for Upper Egypt) and (2) the bee and the cobra for Lower Egypt. Column 3 is the king's name as a flag on a pole ("devine force", Netjer) and the signs "i" and "khet", making: Netjerikhet.
