King Sanakht's mastaba K2 at Beit Khallaf


From Djosers's mastaba Sanakht's tomb is seen in distance like an island in the desert.
Its height is around 5 metres and to the east is a pattern possibly indicating side burials.


From the south only the uppermost part of the wall is visible with the torn up crater.
The masonry of the other walls are not visible but all covered with debris and sand.


Standing by the shallow shaft of Sanakht's tomb with his grave chamber underneath,
the outlook to his brother's monument 250 meters away is quite an impressive sight.
