Stele of King Djet
Dynasty 1   (~ 2.900 BC)

This magnificent big stone stele was found outside Djet's tomb at Abydos. Only the top (shown in picture) has survived and the rest may have been without any in-scription. It once stood a good two metres in height and was probably one of a pair erected at the offering place outside his tomb.
The details in the palace facade gives a good look into the archi-tectural details from his residen-ce with seems to have been ad-orned with fancy brick-work.
This masterpiece in Egyptian art is today kept and exposed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
