Cheris? in Greek
c. 2419 - 2416 BC Reign: 3 years

Neferefre was the son of king Neferirkare and an older brother to the king to be - Neuserre.
He probably followed the ephemeral king Shepseskare (se him) on the throne.
The length of his reign is not noted in the Turin Canon, but it could ot have been more than three to four years at the most. He built a solar-temple named Hetep-Re (not found but known from texts), and at South Abusir he started the construction of his pyramid complex where his valley temple likely was inteded too. The site was left unfinished at the time of his death and revealed a lot of interesting objects (see left) when it was excavated in the 1970s and 1980s.
