The most prominent person mentioned from mastaba K1 besides king Djoser
was his mother queen Ni-maat-hapi. It means "Truth belongs to Hapi", which was the
sacred bull in later times also known as Apis. Her name is written three times (columns
1) and her titles are: (2) "Mother of the king of Upper and Lower Egypt". (3) "If she says
something, it is done for her" (at her command others obey). (4) Probably "Servant of Hor", also know as Horus, the falcon symbolising kingship and strength and stood for the pharaoh himself.
